"Never Let Go with Deep Forest"

ŽŽ’®‚·‚é^WMEQT

Where do I begin with this song? This is my 3rd cowritten song on the album with lyrics by me and music cowritten again with Eric Mouquet (who is one half of the group Deep Forest). I have been a fan of the group for as long as I can remember and was always inspired by their ability to use world and electronic music in such an emotional way. After hearing a track they did with Peter Gabriel, I realised that they could combine their sound with other artists and I thought that a collaboration with be different but really interesting. Sure enough, the meeting with them at the studio was all I could have hoped for. Musically it allowed me to go a bit left of centre from what people are used to and lyrically it is about the miscommunications in the world and in love and not letting go of what is truly important. I put it last on the album because I hope it is a sign of more to come with the songwriting and taking steps in different directions.

I can't understand it

The search for an answer

Is met with a darker day

And we've been handed these moments forever

But I'm reassured

There's another way

@

You don't have to close your eyes

There is room for love again

Ease the pain to realize

All that love can be

Forced apart by time and sand

Take a step and take my hand

And don't let it go

Never let go

@

Broken, once connected

We were so strong and so blessed

In a simple way

So don't let me go it alone

@

Turn your head up to the sky

Nothing down below but me

Face the truth to realize

All that we could be

Torn apart by rage and fear

Hold on to what brought you here

Don't let it go

Never let go

Choir:

Hold your head up to the sky

Nothing down below but me

Face the truth and realize

All that we could be

Josh:

Turn your head up to the sky

Nothing down below

Don't let go
